FREDERICTON, NB – Fredericton Chamber of Commerce CEO Krista Ross has been named to the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Canada’s (“CCEC”) Council of Excellence.
The honour is awarded to a current or retired chamber of commerce manager or posthumously to recognize long time outstanding service to the chamber of commerce movement in Canada and for their contribution to CCEC and other professional development associations. Appointments made by current Council of Excellence recipients.
“It comes as no surprise to the chamber’s board that Krista is a respected leader within the chamber network from coast-to-coast-to-coast,” said Mike Melvin, Fredericton Chamber of Commerce President. “The leadership that she demonstrates in our community is replicated within the chamber movement on a national basis and her effectiveness is a key reason why our chamber consistently punches above our weight for a community our size.”
This honour is not awarded on an annual basis and only 35 chamber of commerce executives in organization’s 57-year history.
“To be included in this exclusive group of chamber leaders that I have looked up to and learned from throughout my career is an overwhelming honour,” said Ross. “I am passionate about our chamber and community and I feel rewarded through my work on a daily basis but to be recognized by my peers throughout the country in this way is something I will never forget.”
During Ross’ acceptance speech, she credited her staff at the Fredericton chamber for being key to her success and the success of the organization.
“Our small team of six people have a combined experience working at our chamber of more than 80 years,” added Ross. “Their commitment, knowledge and enthusiasm drives the work of the chamber and inspires me to push our organization to be the best it can be – I am grateful to have worked with them over so many years to support our members and community.”
The 2023 CCEC annual conference is being held in Calgary, Alberta in advance of the annual Canadian Chamber of Commerce conference. Ross and two members of her team also received milestone service pins at the event:

- Brianne Phillips, Bookkeeper – 20 years
- Christine Little, Membership Development and Marketing Manager – 10 years
