FREDERICTON, NB

The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce (“FFC”) and Joint Economic Development Initiative (“JEDI”) are proud to co-host an upcoming “Indigenous Business Forum”. The full-day forum, scheduled for 29 March 2023 at the Maqitahtimok Centre from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. A full agenda can be found here

“The chamber’s Indigenous Partnerships Committee has been planning this event since the fall and we are excited to see it come to fruition next week,” said Krista Ross, Fredericton Chamber of Commerce CEO. “We have had a tremendous response from participants, sponsors, and the public – we actually had to close registration this week as the venue is at capacity.”

The event will feature four presentations/panels that feature Indigenous and non-Indigenous speakers, exploring opportunities for collaboration and looking at challenges faced. It will also incorporate a networking and trade show component that will highlight Indigenous entrepreneurs.

“The purpose of the event is twofold – to create more connections between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses as well as an educational component that examines some of the unique challenges faced by Indigenous entrepreneurs,” said Stanley Barnaby, JEDI CEO. “We’re hopeful that this forum can bring the local business community together to create more opportunities for economic development in the region.”
