Dear Mr McKay,

RE: Proposed Amendments to Food Premises Regulation under the Public Health Act

That you for your correspondence on 4 October 2019 in response to our letter regarding prorating annual restaurant licensing fees to Minister Flemming from earlier this year.

We are pleased that the Department of Health has accepted our recommendation and intends to move forward with changes to Food Premises Regulation under the Public Health Act to provide for the quarterly proration of food licensing fees for new food premises. Our organization supports the amendment as proposed on the GNB Public Review of Draft Regulations website. We draw the attention of our chambers of commerce and food-service colleagues throughout NB to the proposed change.

We appreciate the government’s willingness to work with business and make reasonable changes that are in the best interest of the province’s long-term economic health. All stakeholders, including government, must continue to work together to make New Brunswick the best place to live, work and start a business.

Sincerely,

Krista Ross, CEO
