Ashford Law and Dispute Resolution is a small law firm located in beautiful Fredericton, New Brunswick specializing in family law, real estate law, and wills and estates.
We currently have two lawyers: Ferne M. Ashford, K.C., who is the senior lawyer and business owner, and Tianna L. Gerber who is an associate lawyer. Ferne and Tianna work closely together to provide a well-rounded, collaborative service to each of their files with the support of 4 other valued staff members.
Ferne Ashford has now been practicing for 25 years assisting the community with real estate, wills, powers of attorney and family law needs. While Ferne is a fierce advocate in the court room (having experience in both the Court of King’s Bench and the Court of Appeal), her true passion is using her mediation and collaborative skills to assist clients in resolving their differences outside of the court room.
In November 2021, Ferne received her designation as Kings Counsel. This designation is given to lawyers who have demonstrated outstanding practice, integrity, leadership and have contributed to excellence in the profession.
Tianna Gerber has reaped the benefits of practicing closely with Ferne in a small firm environment and, as a result, has legal experience far beyond her three years as a lawyer. Tianna has also proven herself as a strong advocate in both the Court of King’s Bench and the Court of Appeal and loves bringing families together through marriage and adoption services.

This translates into a welcoming, friendly and, when needed, comforting environment for clients. Despite the significant amount of time and effort put into each file, we always find time to laugh with each other and form real bonds with our clients.
