Family Support Worker
(Full Time, Part Time, and Casual positions available)
Job Summary: Family Support Workers are responsible for implementing service plans in
collaboration with families and community services. Family Support Workers supervise and
support family visits, provide transportation to appointments and scheduled events, assist
individuals with different abilities and exceptionalities, and in home support and crisis
intervention services. The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate skills in crisis
intervention, conflict resolution, problem solving, and proficiency in written and verbal
communication skills.
Education and Qualifications:
• A diploma in Child and Youth Work, Human/Social Services, or at least two years of a
related degree such as Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or an acceptable
combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience working with children or youth
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Food Safe Certification (an asset, not required)
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Required)
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Clear and Current Driver’s Abstract
• Vehicle Liability Insurance
• Current NVCI training (asset)
• Reliable Transportation
