Job description
Because “Salesperson” is an antiquated notion.
We hope you are reading this because you already are an accomplished professional with a passion for corporate Information Technology yet is missing a human side in their career.
A solution architect is primarily a relationship manager. No, we do not set up couples on first dates. What we do is pair client corporations with IT solutions which bring out the best in their workforce and improve their bottom line. Yes, that means selling Servers, PCs, cyber security, and cloud services (to name but a few of our milieus of expertise) but that is only the biproduct of forging lasting relationships between us and our clients.
Let us get several big “ifs” out of the way so you can decide if ICS might be the answer to your question: “Where do I next take my career?”
- If you know a lot about corporate IT…
- If you know there is still a lot more, you can learn …
- If you can respectfully and effectively present complex solutions in terms a less-than-technically minded person can understand…
- If you have an excellent academic and professional experience pedigree…
- If you are inquisitive, self-demanding, and ambitious…
…then we should talk, because we are doing uncommonly interesting work in the Small-to-Medium Business space right now. Fear not, for you will not be relegated to merely selling Laptops with dubious warranty extensions.
To excel at Interactive Computer Systems, you must crave the opportunity to have your “fingerprints” all over the company. We are small enough that there are no weeds in which to hide and every person’s contribution counts. We are growing like a weed (but staying tidy) and are financially as solid and handsome as a piece of glorious Italian marble. You can fittingly call this a “ground-floor” opportunity led by entrepreneurs who have been building success for more than three decades.
Note well: 100% of our revenue comes from high-end project delivery and service contracts. We seek only full-time, salaried, enthusiastic, and committed colleagues.
Our HQ is in the heart of downtown Fredericton. While we serve clients well beyond the city limits, with projects taking us as far away, we are looking for someone who can reliably work out of New Brunswick’s incredibly beautiful Capital city.
Overview
The IT Solutions Architect slides between pro-actively seeking new opportunities with both incumbent and prospective clients and nurturing existing or ongoing projects and contracts. The IT Solutions Architect has a background in, well, IT in addition to communications. Expect to massively grow your scope of expertise no matter what level you enter our company.
In our descriptions below, we use the word “like” intentionally. We do not present a comprehensive list of all the skills that might be relevant for our work, nor must you have everything we list. We are building a team and looking for long-term players with vast meta-skills to excel. We evaluate a candidate by placing your uniqueness into our context to determine if and how the pieces fit together. The right candidate can abstract from the samples below to help determine if he/she might be a “unique fit” for ICS.
Communications and IT Skills like:
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate IT structure, from high level conceptualization right down to the nitty gritty of an individual server.
- Writing and presenting proposals (or in the common tongue: “quotes”), content for sales marketing, and more.
- Routine maintenance, not of the systems you architect, but of the relationship we have with the customer.
- Assist product manager with run rates, marker trends, and stock levels.
About Interactive Computer Systems – We Are:
- A specialized IT supply and support consultancy that helps companies build and extend technology solutions.
- A company whose approach to sales is that of forging lasting and rewarding relationships with our customers.
- Collaborative white-collar professionals and business technologists but most of the time we are in golf shirts, we love what we do, and we laugh a lot.
- Very technically proficient with a high standard of service.
- Working with some of the biggest brands in the SMB IT space. We are helping to build strong relationships between the brands and platforms we employ and our clients.
- Naturally curious and creative. We treasure our ability to collaborate with a team to solve complex technical challenges.
- Our turnover rate? The words “truly trivial” come to mind. When you interview with us you will directly experience how and why we have made this so and will meet some of our multi-decade employees.
- People who work to live. We do not live to work.
- Here’s one more excellent self-descriptor: We do what we say we are going to do, when we say we are going to do it, for what we say it will cost.
