The work of the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce would be impossible without the dedicated participation of our volunteers and our members. As we head into the summer, at the completion of another great year of chamber activities – I would like to recognize some of those who have contributed to making our chamber the best it can be.
First, to President Ryan Boyer – your dedication and contribution of time and talent have been second to none. We’ve all heard the adage about getting busy people to do volunteer work… well, Ryan personifies this! A small business owner (Cain Boyer Benefits), who, together with his wife Jackie is raising three young children, Ryan has stepped up to the plate as President of the Chamber for 2018-2019 with alacrity! Meetings too countless to keep track of, committees both participating and chairing, speeches on a regular basis, and advocacy from the day he began his term ‘til the completion. The business community owes a huge thanks to this devoted volunteer.
Next, to incoming President Karen Grant – you have a big year ahead of you – but you are ready for the challenge having been involved with the chamber for more than 15 years in various volunteer capacities. The team and I are so excited to work under your leadership and learn from your vast experience as a business owner and community volunteer in the coming year.
Third, a huge thank you to Keir Clark who will be leaving the board after joining us at our AGM in 2012. Keir joined the board about six months after I came to the Chamber as CEO – and was the last remaining board member from my start with the Chamber…. I can’t thank you enough Keir for your guidance, your dedication, your support and your friendship these past six years. Team Chamber is so appreciative of your dedication and your mentorship over your time on the board.
Finally – a HUGE thank you to ‘Team Chamber’. Our organization is so fortunate to have this team of highly dedicated and talented individuals who work on your behalf every single day. Congratulations to Wendy Morrell (15 years), Christine Little (6 years) and Morgan Peters (7 years) for achieving their ACE designation this year (Accredited Chamber Executive) and I received my designation as well. Thanks to Brianne Phillips (15 years), Tanya Senechal (2 years), Janet Moser (9 years), and Ksenia Sehic (1 year) – for your dedication and hard work – between us – we’ve been serving the business community of Fredericton for more than 60 years. We all welcome your input and look forward to continuing to serve you!
