The Conservation Council of New Brunswick is looking for an exceptionally skilled person to fill the role of Executive Director. They are a people manager, a strategic thinker and a problem solver. Their knowledge of New Brunswick environmental issues will help the Conservation Council effectively communicate environmental policy initiatives to the general public and influence decision makers to implement the policies needed to protect our air, water and land.
The ideal candidate will have the following expertise:
– Has work experience in leadership roles, including acting as an inspirational mentor/coach.
– Has recognized academic qualifications / experience pertinent to leadership, administration and working with a board of directors.
– Has experience in successful fundraising and grant applications for non-profit organizations.
– Is an excellent public and corporate communicator.
– Qualifications relating to our program areas are considered strong assets.
– Proficiency in both official languages is also a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities:
– Oversee all programs and work collaboratively with the Board of Directors and staff to support our mission and strategic plans.
– Provide overall organizational and staff development, supervision and support.
– Develop and ensure a healthy, safe and inclusive work environment by coaching and mentoring staff as appropriate to encourage excellence and innovation.
– Manage effective communications and reporting to the Board of Directors.
– Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and program delivery.
-Recruit, interview and hire staff if needed to help further the organization's mission.
-Ensure responsible management of the Conservation Council of New Brunswick’s; funding, accountability and sustainability including administering the funds of the organization according to the approved budget.
– Develop and submit funding proposals as well as sourcing prospective funding and developing relationships with funders.
– Develop and manage a donations strategy and explore and develop opportunities for revenue generating programs.
– Sustain, develop, and facilitate external relationships with community groups, funders, politicians and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
– Oversee the development of communications materials and strategy to ensure that the organization has a visible and effective public image.
– Manage public relations and ensure that all public documents are available in both official languages.
– Support the retention and growth of membership.
– Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization.
Salary is $75,000 plus subject to experience and qualifications. We offer a generous vacation allowance and a benefits package.
