Fredericton Chamber Presents Frank Flanagan with President's Award

(FREDERICTON, NB) – Fredericton Chamber of Commerce Past President Andrew Steeves will present the annual President’s Award to long-time Chamber Board member Frank Flanagan at tonight’s City Council meeting. Frank Flanagan, Director of Development Services for the City of Fredericton, has served on the Fredericton Chamber Board of Directors since 2001. During this time he has educated the Board,CEO, and staff on municipal priorities and projects, zoning and bylaw changes, and key issues that would have an impact on the business community, like the role and responsibility of the Regional Service Commissions. Just as importantly, Frank has been quick to make introductions and connect Chamber representatives with municipal stakeholders to facilitate dialogue between government and business.

“The guidance Frank has provided to the Fredericton Chamber Board of Directors over the years
has been invaluable” said Andrew Steeves. “His knowledge of Fredericton has been a tremendous
asset to us, and I’m pleased to be able to present him with the President’s Award as a sign of our appreciation for his outstanding efforts.”
Krista Ross, CEO of the Fredericton Chamber, emphasized the number of volunteer hours Frank has
dedicated to the Chamber during his time on the Board. “If you think of the time spent in monthly Board meetings, at networking events, and in stakeholder meetings, the number of hours Frank has spent in attendance at Chamber functions would easily be in the hundreds!” said Ross. “His commitment to the good of the community has been second to none.”

The President’s Award is scheduled to be presented to Frank at 7:30 in Council Chambers. With more than 900 members, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest chambers of commerce.
