(FREDERICTON, NB) – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of the Province Address will feature a segment where Premier Alward will answer a number of questions submitted by business leaders from across the province.

“Each year the Premier of New Brunswick addresses the business community at the State of the Province Address, and this year we wanted to ensure that the policy issues most important to business – regardless of which corner of the province you live and work in – were a central part of the event” said Krista Ross, CEO of the Fredericton Chamber. “We’ve been working with our colleagues at chambers of commerce and boards of trade from across the province since November to generate a series of questions for Premier Alward that really captures the issues that businesses in New Brunswick are focused on.”

The 850 attendees of the 2012 State of the Province Address will have the opportunity to vote on the question they’d most like to hear Premier Alward answer. The three most popular questions will form the Q&A portion of the event.

“We’re working with Rogers TV to involve as many interested businesspeople in New Brunswick in this event as possible” said Krista Ross. “The event will be broadcast on Rogers TV stations beginning at 8:30pm, and the Fredericton Chamber website will have a link to the Rogers TV website, where the event will be streamed live. We encourage everyone to tune in to hear Premier Alward discuss the business community’s most pressing policy issues.”

The State of the Province Address will take place on Thursday, January 26th at 8:30pm at the Fredericton Convention Centre.

With more than 900 members, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest chambers of commerce. A dynamic and relevant business organization, the Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is actively engaged in policy development that affects the competitiveness of our members and of the Canadian business environment.
